Our Mission

Making Strides Against Breast CancerMission Statement

The Kalamazoo Junior Women's Club is a social service organization working to better the lives of women and children in the Kalamazoo area through community service and program support.

Serving the Community

The Kalamazoo Junior Women's Club is a 501(c)(3) organization which has returned thousands of volunteer hours and dollars to the Kalamazoo community over the past 40 years. Agencies that have been supported by the KJWC include the YWCA, Second Time Around, The Gospel Mission, Generous Hands, Drop-In Child Care Center, Borgess Hospital Mammogram Program, Glowing Embers Girl Scout Council, Edison Environmental Science Academy and more.

Literacy

The Kalamazoo Junior Women's Club is especially committed to projects aimed toward literacy. We have distributed thousands of books to at-risk children by participating in the RIF (Reading Is Fundamental) program. Through The Dictionary Project we are able to give at-risk third-grade students a new dictionary of their very own. Each year The KJWC awards The Jane Smith Memorial Scholarship to a student attending Kalamazoo Valley Community College.
